Lois S. McCune

Lois McCune has been creating masterful oil portraits, still lifes, and floral interpretations for over 25 years. Lois has particular skills in recreating the faces of adults, children and animals with precision accuracy while also bringing to life the essence and vibrancy of her subjects.

Her works are publicly displayed at the Benedum Center for the Performing Arts, the Pittsburgh Public Theater, Shadyside Academy, Fox Chapel Country Day School, Allegheny General Hospital and McGee Women's Hospital. Her paintings are held in private collections throughout the United States, Europe and further abroad.

Lois began her formal training at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. She continued her education with artists Frank "Brock" Brockenshaw, Albert Handell (both of Woodstock), and the late Dunning Powell (Portraits Inc., NYC)

She later attended the Art Student's League, the National Academy of Design in New York City, the Scottsdale Artists' School and the Lyme Academy of Fine Art. Her instructors included David Leffel, Everett Raymond Kinstler, Aaron Shikler, Frank Mason and Burt Silverman.

Lois is a member of the National Arts Club in Gramercy Park, NYC and the Portrait Society of America. She received the Award of Excellence at the Westmoreland Museum of Art. Lois exhibited and won prizes in the Cooperstown and Albany Associated Art Shows.

Lois is one of the few accomplished artists who are willing to work directly with their clients, eliminating unnecessary agency and brokerage fees. Her art is also available throughout various galleries.
